The Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ) is a publication dedicated to the broad field of Animal Science. We publish high-quality, original scientific research that spans across diverse areas within the discipline. The scope of RBZ encompasses a wide range of topics, including aquaculture, biometeorology and animal welfare, forage crops and grasslands, animal and forage plants breeding and genetics, animal reproduction, ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat science and muscle biology, precision livestock, and animal production systems and agribusiness.

The objectives of this work were to identify the mathematical functions that better fitted the milk production of Guzera breed cows, to evaluate the effects of the environmental factors on the lactation curve format and to estimate the genetic parameters for the milk production and for the dependable components of the lactation curve format. A total of 1130 lactations from 583 Guzera breed cows, daughters of 165 bulls, with production over the period from 1983 to 1997 were used. The models y = a n e -cn, y = a – cn + ln (n), y=a -cn e y =a e-c n

Figure 5
Dendrogram constructed using the UPGMA algorithm based on allele distances of each of the 74 individuals analyzed with five microsatellite markers.
The individuals belong to four sampling zones: (1) dam zone, (2) Huaynamota River zone, (3) central reservoir zone, and (4) southern reservoir zone.
