The Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ) is a publication dedicated to the broad field of Animal Science. We publish high-quality, original scientific research that spans across diverse areas within the discipline. The scope of RBZ encompasses a wide range of topics, including aquaculture, biometeorology and animal welfare, forage crops and grasslands, animal and forage plants breeding and genetics, animal reproduction, ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat science and muscle biology, precision livestock, and animal production systems and agribusiness.

This trial was conducted at National Beef Cattle Research Center of Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa Beef Cattle). Forty five F1 Aberdeen Angus-Nellore steers were used to evaluate the effects of different dry seasons feeding schemes on carcass characteristics. The treatments were: control, without supplementation (S/S); supplementation in 2nd dry period (S2S); supplementation in 1st dry period (S1S); supplementation in 1st and 2nd dry periods (S12S) and supplementation in 1st dry period and confinament in 2nd one (S1C2). Animals were […]
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the effect of 8.4 g/day of rumen protected methionine (RPM) or 8.4 g/day of rumen non protected methionine (RNPM) or even of control cows on milk yield and compositon during 90 days of lactation. Six high yielding lactating Holsteins cows (>20 kg/day) in the first and second lactation, with 19 + 6 days of lactation were used in a duplicated latin square design. The cows were fed a total mixed ration composed […]
ABSTRACT – The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the substitution of corn by cassava bagasse in the concentrate on dry matter, organic matter and crude protein intake in growing cattle. Sixteen crossbred bulls were allotted to a completely randomized block design, in two periods. Four types of concentrate were tested in association with an ad libitum allowance of oat/ryegrass hay (Avena strigosa, L.; Lolium multiflorum, L.)and an average concentrate supplementation of .83% LW. The concentrates […]
