Body components and internal organs of Texel x Bergamácia, Texel x Santa Inês and purebred Santa Inês lambs finished in fedlot, with of coffee hull as part of the diet
Twelve crossbred Texel x Bergamácia (TB), 12 crossbred Texel x Santa Inês (TS) and 12 purebred Santa Inês (SI) lambs were individually finished in fedlot for 50 days (from 130 to 180 days of age). Each genetic group consisted of six males and six females, fed three different diets: 1 = without coffee hulls (control); 2 = with coffee hulls in nature; 3 = with coffee hulls treated of with urea. The rumen/reticulum (RR) of the animals fed diets 1 […]
The coffee hull and pulp dehydrated carbohydrate fractions A, B1, B2 and C, were evaluated according to the CNCPS. Three coffee cultivars were evaluated: Catuaí, Rubi and Mundo Novo. Pulp was obtained by moist pulping in a mechanical pulper and dried in the sun adjusted to 13% moisture. Materials were stored in raffia bags in environment free of moisture and well ventilated. Samplings were taken every 90 days. The equations utilized for determining fractions were reported in the CNCPS model. […]
