The Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ) is a publication dedicated to the broad field of Animal Science. We publish high-quality, original scientific research that spans across diverse areas within the discipline. The scope of RBZ encompasses a wide range of topics, including aquaculture, biometeorology and animal welfare, forage crops and grasslands, animal and forage plants breeding and genetics, animal reproduction, ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat science and muscle biology, precision livestock, and animal production systems and agribusiness.

An experiment was carried out to verify the effect of levels of phosphorus and the particle size of dicalcium phosphate on diets for brown egg layer hens during production phase. A complete randomized experimental design as a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement, with two sizes of particles of phosphate (fine and granulate) and three levels of available phosphorus (0.28, 0.38 and 0.48%), totalizing six treatements with five replications of eight birds each, was used. The experimental diets were isoproteic, isocaloric, […]

One experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of different dietary fluorine:phosphorus (F:P) ratios on the performance and bone parameters of layer hens. One hundred and sixty layer hens were randomly allotted to an experimental design with four treatments (phosphorus sources with different F:P ratios – 1:40, 1:60, 1:80, 1:100) with five replicates of eight layers each. At the end of the experiment, two birds per replicate were slaughtered and their tibias were collected to assess the fluorine, calcium, phosphorus […]

Available phosphorus requirement of juvenile Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was determined. A total of 352 fishes with initial weight of 0.41 g ± 0.30 g was assigned to a completely block experimental design were used, with four levels of available phosphorus and four replications. Diets with 32.0% CP and 3,050 kcal DE/kg were supplemented with dicalcium phosphate to obtain levels of 0.21; 0.40; 0.56 and 0.71% of available phosphorus in the diets. Diets were handly fed during 120 days. No […]
