The Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ) is a publication dedicated to the broad field of Animal Science. We publish high-quality, original scientific research that spans across diverse areas within the discipline. The scope of RBZ encompasses a wide range of topics, including aquaculture, biometeorology and animal welfare, forage crops and grasslands, animal and forage plants breeding and genetics, animal reproduction, ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat science and muscle biology, precision livestock, and animal production systems and agribusiness.

The study was conducted to analyze alterations in the microbiological profile of the ileal digesta of broilers fed different levels of energy and additives. A standard diet based on corn-soybean meal and a low energy diet based on corn, soybean and wheat bran were prepared. Either Enterococus faecium probiotic or xylanase, amylase plus β-glucanase enzymes or the mix of probiotic and exzymes were added or not to each energy level, resulting in eight treatments. Birds were distributed in a 2 […]
This study was carried out to evaluate 14 genotypes of six winter species for yield and nutritive value of early forage and silage or regrowth grain. The experiment was in a randomized complete block design with three replications, so that the plots consisted of seven 5.0 m-long rows spaced at 0.2 m. The seeding date was April in the three study years and fertilization followed the recommendations for the crops. During the tillering period and after cutting, urea was applied […]
Effect of wheat harvested under different humidity levels, processed at different drying temperatures on performance, carcass traits and chemical composition of male broilers
This study was conducted to evaluate the influence of humidity levels at harvesting period and drying temperatures of wheat grain in isoprotein, isoenergy and isovolumetric diets on broiler performance. The wheat grains were harvested with 30, 16 and 13% of humidity levels and submitted to drying temperatures of 100, 70 and 40°C. The level of 13% of humidity was not submitted to drying. The diets were offered to birds in three distinct periods, 1-21; 22-35 and 36-42 days of age. […]
ABSTRACT – The objective of this work was to determine the best level of replacement of corn by wheat with 0 and 9% of germinated grains (GG) in broiler chicken diets. A mashed diet (MD) at the initial phase (0 to 21 days), crumbled diets (CD) at the growing phase (21 to 35 days) and pelleted diets (PD) at the final phase, (35 to 42 days) were used. A randomized block design with five treatments and 12 replicates with 26 […]
