The Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ) is a publication dedicated to the broad field of Animal Science. We publish high-quality, original scientific research that spans across diverse areas within the discipline. The scope of RBZ encompasses a wide range of topics, including aquaculture, biometeorology and animal welfare, forage crops and grasslands, animal and forage plants breeding and genetics, animal reproduction, ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat science and muscle biology, precision livestock, and animal production systems and agribusiness.

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the inclusion levels of integral mesquite pods meal (MPM) (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25%) in diet on laying quail performance. Two hundred and sixteen layer quails with 160 days of age and live weight of 189 g were allotted to an experimental design completely randomized. The studied variables were obtained in three periods of 21 days. The 25% of MPM level reduced feed intake and egg mass when compared to control. Except […]

The experiment was conduced to determine the protein and energy levels, for laying Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica), in four experimental periods of 28 days each. Six hundred females quails with 45 days of aged and average initial weight of 138.0g were used. The experimental design used was randomized blocks, in 3×5 factorial scheme, with three levels of energy (2,850, 2,950 and 3,050 kcal of ME/kg) and five protein levels (16, 18, 20, 22 and 24% CP), with four replications […]
